Baraboo Reads brings our community together each year to read a book that has the chance to change the way we think about and interact with each other to foster openness and inclusivity. This year’s book, Sitting Pretty: The View From My Ordinary Resilient Disabled Body by Rebekah Taussig allows our community to explore the theme of disabilities. This event, planned by the Baraboo Acts Coalition, the Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library of Baraboo, UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County, and the Baraboo Area Literacy Council, is designed to be a safe and respectful setting for the discussion of disabilities and accessibility.
We will have a book discussion followed by a panel discussion/Q&A with community members who are experts on issues relating to disability, either through their personal or professional experience, or both.
Copies of the book will be made available for free starting July 12 at the following locations:
-Carnegie-Schadde Memorial Public Library
-UW-Platteville Baraboo Sauk County Student Services
-The Village Booksmith
