The Spring Green General Store is proud to present the third annual ChamberFest, a classical chamber music festival in the heart of the River Valley. More-Than-Human, a new program curated by Artistic Director and cellist Zou Zou Robidoux, features chamber music inspired by the natural world. This 1.5-hour long concert is preceded by a Children’s Concert featuring Alys Dickerson of American Players Theatre.
ChamberFest will take place on Saturday, July 27th at the Spring Green General Store (137 S
Albany St).
● Saturday, July 27th at 11 AM: Children’s Concert. Join Alys Dickerson https://americanplayers.org/about/people/alys-dickerson and a trio of ChamberFest musicians for a musical story time featuring works by Scott Joplin, Antonio Vivaldi, and more! This fun and inclusive concert invites music lovers of all ages to learn more about the instruments, ask questions about the music and featured composers, and enjoy the art of storytelling with a live soundtrack.
● Saturday, July 27th at 12 PM: More-Than-Human: Chamber Music Inspired by the Natural World. This concert explores themes of land, climate, animals, and nature with works by Caroline Shaw, The Danish String Quartet, and more.
Robidoux is joined by violinists Vinicius Sant’Ana and Maynie Bradley, violinist-violist Sahada Buckley, and cellist James Waldo, all members of the Listen Closely Chamber Music Collective.
In case of rain, ChamberFest will move to the Community Room at the Spring Green Community Library (230 E Monroe St).
All ChamberFest events are free with a $20 suggested donation. You can make a tax-deductible donation to ChamberFest through their fiscal receiver, Create Wisconsin, at mightycause.com/story/Chamberfest. Cash and check donations are accepted at all concerts.
