Many years ago, Reedsburg gained the proud distinction of being the “Butter Capital of America” when our local milk processing plant produced more butter than any other place in the country! To celebrate that fact, our week-long Butter Festival was born, and for 50 years Butterfest has been one of the great traditions of Reedsburg. Butterfest is an old-fashioned community festival consisting of a carnival, demolition derby, chicken BBQ, and a Saturday parade.
