Durward’s Glen is a nonprofit whose grounds are open to the public to explore. Dedicated to preserving the property’s natural beauty and history, the center also provides affordable group lodging. Informal accommodations range from three wings of dormitory-style rooms to the Artist’s Cottage, a stand-alone, two-story Gothic-style retreat with a sunroom that overlooks a creek. There’s a chapel on-site as well.

White Mound County Park
White Mound offers 46 campsites, all of which are private. Most of them have electrical hookups, the lake is crystal clear and there’s a nearby waterplex for the kiddos.
Merry Macs Campground
The name is no joke when it comes to merriment. Read: miniature golf, gaga ball, a swimming pool and much more. No one will get bored at Merry Macs. There’s also a grocery store on-site with novelties, wood, ice, soda and snacks.
Wisconsin Riverside Resort
At this camping resort, you’ll find an elevated experience with RV and tent sites, waterfront cabins and a lagoon that features an inflatable sports park. On-site restaurant Riverside Bar and Grille offers dining and drinking with a view of the Wisconsin River.
Skillet Creek Campground
A haven for nature lovers and surrounded by 70 acres of Baraboo hills, Skillet Creek also boasts a peaceful lake offering a relaxing escape for tent and RV campers. Activities include hiking, rock climbing, swimming, fishing, boating and eating scoops of ice cream under the stars.
Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park
If a child can dream it, Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Wisconsin Dells has it: waterslides, jumping pillows, pools, splashgrounds, wagon rides, mini golf and more. There are also a variety of options when it comes to accommodations, whether you want to go off-grid and stay in a yurt, try your hand at traditional camping or stay a little more plugged in with a luxury cabin.
